This lovely pine bench is a wonderful example of Norwegian craftsmanship of the Gustavian period.
Amazing painted details and carved details that add to its allure. The seat opens to reveal a storage space below. This style of bench originally served as a type of spare bed as the bottom could pull out revealing a type of “trundle” bed inside. This bench has been very well taken care of, strong and is ready to use has been given a wax finish, enhancing the Painted finish.
